"Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, 'I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?' Jesus replied, 'Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.' Then John consented. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, 'This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.' " (Matthew 3:13-17)
We were apart of something beautiful at Woodleaf.
In the four weeks that we served, something happened in the hearts of 10 of our summer staffers (and a few work crew). They invited Christ to not just be a small part of their lives, but for Him to be the center of their lives. They decided that they were changed, and that they did not want to go back to who they were before Jesus. They decided that, without a doubt, they needed Jesus. These friends decided that they were ready to make this commitment before each other & the Lord.
Each one of these beautiful humans has a past. None of them are perfect. But that is what makes this so much more amazing. God's grace covers us, fully and completely, no matter what.
I was absolutely honored to take these photos of my brothers & sisters in Christ becoming washed clean.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, (s)he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)
