The Lai's have been a huge part of my life since I was in high school. Both of them were there for me through the good, the bad, and the ugly. They've seen me at my absolute worst, and seen God work in my heart in ways I could have never dreamed of. They are wonderful parents, and a great example of what it means to keep Christ at the center of your marriage. After spending a month with them at Woodleaf, they offered Brian & I a place to stay in San Francisco. We planned to walk around San Francisco, their new home, and take family portraits at their favorite spots, but when the day came to go out, everyone was so exhausted from our month at camp that we decided to take photos of their everyday life in their new home.
I am SO happy we decided to do this instead! Taking photos of children has never been something I've enjoyed, but it was awesome to have the kids be attentive and comfortable because we were taking photos in a place they knew. I know I'll want to do most, if not all, of my family shoots with young children in this way in the future.
